identity

We Exist

We Exist started as a documentary but became a global movement. Its birth was as a documentary about Lauren, who exists outside the binary gender system; it soon became a movement to promote the rights of those who exist outside the binary gender system. As such, We Exist needed an identity that would work both to promote the film as well as for across-the-board branding for the movement itself.

The We Exist identity arose out of two insights: We Exist abbreviates into “WE”; and the pink/blue overlap would immediately translate the central theme of third gender and gender neutrality. The pink and blue overlap becomes a central identity element that can be flexibly applied across media while staying clean and modern.
